Default Stripping/Painting Bottle

I bought an NX MAF kit from another forum user. The color on the bottle is alright, but I'd like to paint it. What can I use to strip off the existing paint? Will using something like naval jelly or aircraft stipper cause any damage to the bottle itself?

I know it may be a silly question, but with something right behind me in my car holding over 1000 psi I don't want to take chances.

TIA,
Jason

Just paint over the white. It is not paint it is a powered coat very hard to get off. The base white usually lends its self to a nicely painted bottle. White is real easy to cover over.

Thanks Ricky. The previous owner covered the white with a blueish purple color. I can still see the white underneath that though. I'll go ahead and sand his a little bit and paint it to my liking.
