Default Is 1/4" line sufficient as a stand alone fuel system for 250 shot?

Was looking at a junior dragster fuel cell with only a 1/4" barb fitting and was wondering if it would be enough for a 40 psi 250 shot. Obviously I would need a 1/4" line to clamp on it so I was hoping it wouldn't be a bottleneck and flow enough.

You can pull that barb hose out and screw a real fitting in it...

OK, I wasn't sure if that was possible. That would be better. If it's 1/4" then what, -3 AN? Big enough?

I called Summit tech dept about that cell and the guy wasn't real sure if it came out or not. Whether or not the fitting comes out, I need to know if it's gonna flow enough fuel. Is it big enough?

If you are talking about the 80.00 JR Dragster cell with the little alluminum cap on it I have used them in the past. I took the barb fuel supply out and threaded a fitting in. Then I drilled and taped a fitting in the top for a return. The problem with doing all this is that you are treading it into plastic. It will work but be carefuel. It will be easy to strip it out. I can not remmeber what size fitting I used in the tank.

This is why we started building our complete units. I decided I wanted something alittle nicer and more sturdy. By the time I added up all the fittings, tank, pump, regulater, and hoses our custom built unit was not much more.

I was trying to cut some costs so I found MOST of what I needed from another user here on the boards. He had the gauge, the regulator, pump, and the lines and fittings from his setup. I'll just have to adapt it to whatever cell I get. I haven't decided on a cell, but wanted about the smallest one I could find. In other words you are saying that the 1/4" barb is too small? I don't mind using it but it has to be sufficient.

Yes, Take the 1,4 barb out. Just to make sure we are on the same page. I am talking about the 2 qt Jazz JR dragster cell.

Well it's a Summit Jr. dragster cell http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=SUM%2D290197 .
But it's got the 1/4" barb. Are your cells available for purchase seperately?
