I disagree. There are soooooooooooo many different kinds of cams to choose from that you can have just the right combo for virtually any desired setup!

Now I wouldn't recommend going with a 238/242 cam for a daily driver, but there are some really nice nitrous cams that will be nice in daily driving situations.

Cam, then add the sauce, that way you can get the tune just right.

Yeah, but its the point of if its a dailey driver, typically the daily driver wants cheapest bang for buck deal, and nitrous blows a cam out of the water as far as $$$

You are right. Nitrous is the best bang for the buck............however he isn't asking for the best bang for the buck!

IMO, he should go for a cam first! And if I were him I would go with a nitrous cam and if money permit a reasonably priced nitrous kit to go with it. Hell you can get a good nitrous cam for $350-$400 and a good kit for $550. And I bet the right vendor would even make a deal for him.

Either way the cam will compliment the nitrous and the tune can be done for both saving him money in the long run. The outcome will be more horsepower and less money spent to get there.

But that's just my opinion.

Wow, I made this thread months ago when I was fairly new to LS1Tech and didn't know how to suscribe to threads. I forgot about this post and can't believe its still going. Anyway, I have since put a cam in the car (222/224 .566/.568@112lsa) and a Moser 12 Bolt with 3.90's. And...I've got a NX wet kit in the garage waiting for the stand alone fuel system to get it in the car. Thanks for the advise.
