Default nitrous pressure gauge faulty?

I think my nitrous pressure gauge from autometer is faulty. It is an electric gauge and when I first applied power the needle went to maximum and never returned to zero (as they do for a power up calibration). I was wondering if anyone else has had a faulty autometer gauge and did something similar to this.

sounds like the sensor is not hooked up. Checked the plug on the sensor?
Any broken wires? Are any wires crimped? If so check the crimps.

Also...check the plug on the back of the gauge...pill it out and look at the front pins that have wires going in the back of the plug They pull out easily.
