Um, stupid question. IS is possible to make an engien run entirely of Nitrous ? Or is it a really stupid question since Nitrous Oxide helps regular air/fuel mixtures burn and cannot burn at the same leevl as an air/fuel mix?
Are you asking if you can replace the fuel with nitrous? If you are then the answer is no. Nitrous is not flammable. When it enters the engine and gets hot enough it splits into nitrogen and oxygen. Normal atmospheric air is about 20% oxygen whereas nitrous oxide is a little more than 33% oxygen. Therefore since spraying nitrous puts so much more oxygen into your engine you are able to burn a lot more fuel and that's where the extra power comes from.
i believe he meant replace the incoming air with just nitrous. which in threory could work will alot of planning but would be so uneconomical it wouldnt even be worth it. you would need a rediculous amount of nitrous.
theres no way t ostore enough to keep the engine running for any decent period of time lol just using nitrous as an adder and not fully supplying the motor you use a 10 pound bottle in a short span. you'd also need a way to control the nitrous to vary engine speeds.
