Why does a wet kit make more torque than dry?

OK guys, I think I have gathered the info I was looking for when I started this thread. I did not, and do not, want this to be a wet vs dry thread (there are plenty already).
My conclusions are:
-dry can make as much torque/power as wet, just takes a little more time in tuning and adjustment
-wet kits are easier to just bolt on and get gobs of power out of
My suspicion is a lot of guys bolt a dry kit up and go without really tuning it much, if at all. For me this is not the case. I have HPtuners and a wideband so I believe I can tune my dry kit to safely and reliably make power number right there with a wet kit.
