why no lt1 guys using dry setup?

Default why no lt1 guys using dry setup?

hey guys,

I notice that most ls1 guys use a dry setup, why not lt1 guys?

ls1's use the maf to get the extra fuel, lt1's use fuel pressure spiker to get the extra fuel on dry kits

i notice that but we both have maf or is it that our pcm doesn't give enough fuel even by tricking the maf?

very simple...On a n.o.s kit they have a regulator(not sure what they call it) that basically increase pressure through the vaccum line at the regulator to bump the fuel pressure to about 90ps...like a fmu for superchargers

The lt1 has a simpler computer, small injectors, weak fuel pump and this why the MAF dry isn't used. The NOS kit has a aux fuel pump that is used to spike fuel pressure up and trick injectors into being bigger.

Yeah, a buddy of mine had a Zex kit on his LT1 for ever. I think at last count he was at 40 + bottles. Car had like 190,000 + mile no problems. But in some hoarse trade he swapped his engine for a built 383, didn't upgrade fuel pump, and let some guy "tune" his car while driving. ( no wideband wtf ). Shifted into second on spray, and blew a head gasket. At the very least possibly more.

Friend of mine had a 97 lt1 with a 100 dry. Ran lots and lots of bottles through the car and never had a problem. No tune just colder plugs and premium gas.

I have had three LT1's myself, all with both dryand wet kits. Never had a problem. My 93' Vette went 138k miles with a 125 shot dry. My 96' Z28 went 100k miles with 125 dry, never a problem....
