Default bad bottle valve?

I use the zex dry setup in my GTP, and even after being told not to, I bought the kit used. From day one, while turning the handle to open the valve, it would get 'stuck'. If I hit/tapped the valve with my hand, I could turn the handle another 1/2 turn or so each time I did it, but I realize that there is probably somehting wrong with the valve and/or bottle.

Went to the track yesterday and opened up the valve in the staging lanes. Was sitting right at 1000 PSI. Hit the purge, and you could hear air coming out, but there was no cloud or any liquid nitrous visible. A friend stuck his hand in front of the purge line and had me purge it again and he said it was 'cool' air, but it certainly wasnt as cold as it should have been. Anyway, I made a run without spray and went back to the pits. Disconnected my warmer and the main feed line from the bottle and cracked open the bottle without the feed line, and there was a buttload of air, but almost ZERO 'white stuff' coming out. Last I could remember, I should be getting a buttload of liquid nitrous coming out. Bottle weighs @ ~20lbs, so I'm pretty positive there is still nitrous in there.

Do the 'pickup tubes' come loose from the valves? I've seen new valves for sale on ebay and other places, but how do you go about swapping them out?

Any other ideas would certainly be helpful.

The valve is threaded into the bottle, just unscrew it. You might have to have someone hold it while you turn it. I normally use a big cresent wrench. If the siphon tube came loose you should be able to hear it rattling around in there. Plus if you flip the bottle upside down you should get liquid N2O coming out.

If you wanna replace the valve i have 2 brand new NX valves for 10lb bottle that i wanna sell, PM me if your interested.

It sounds like you have a bent stem on the valve. not the end of the world but a pain in tha a$$ I think the real problem is if the bottle only weights 20 psi its virtually EMPTY (only thing let in it is gas)
If GIMP has a new valve I would go that way.

Just to confirm -

When purging or opening the bottle out of the car, you should definately see a white cloud, correct?

Yep, if theres any N20 in there. Most 10lb bottles are about 15-16lbs. so there should be enough in there.
