What do you gap your TR6's to?

I heard the stock gap setting on an ls1 is .060" and that for every 50 hp over stock to close the gap by .004" So I figured I'd set the gap for an extra 225 hp (with the 125hp pills in) and set the gap @ .042" Is this right? N/A my car makes about 390 rwhp. I just read the sticky about spark plugs and saw that .038" is reccomended for a 125 shot like I plan on running and now I'm really confused! Any insight will be greatly appreciated, if I did this wrong and need to re gap my plug I want to know.

The factory gapping is @ .060", but that is on factory heat range plug. (ie. TR5)

The TR6 plug is 1-step colder and therefore needs a smaller gap. .038" on the TR6 should work very well for your car.

if you look in the spark plug sticky it will tell you what the gap should be for mine it was between .35 to .38

Thanks, guess I'll just have to pull and regap all the plugs.:bang:

TR6's are gapped right at .035 to .038 when you buy them. That is perfect. I simply check gaps against one another when I install the TR6s....

Thanks but I already installed mine gapped @ .042
I'll be pulling them and re-gapping them in a few minutes.

LOL! Yep, my hands are so scratched and bruised. I got the smog line block off plates coming from thunder now too, tired of moving those things out of the way everytime I get ready to acess my plugs or wires.

Youd be fine with the .042 gap actually. No need to split hairs....but whatever you want to do. ;)

Sticky on plugs is worth it. Rule of Thumb, dont exceed +.005 or -.005 from factory preset gap of the plug, e.g. TR6 is preset at .035", you should be able to stay in .030-.040" range, if not, then you should use a different plug.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I yanked all of them on the 3rd and reset them to .035 I just dont want a backfire or any detonation.
