Default spark plugs and timing

ok in my 89 305 tbi with a 125 wet shot i want to know if i can run with the ac delco rapid fires i just put in or if i have to change them to something else? what should the gap be?

also should i retard the timing? i heard 4 degress but that sounds like a lot.

You'll want to go colder on the plugs.
Nippon Densor T20's
or Motocraft 32C's
should work okay.
Gap them between .028" and .035"

The timing depends on where you are right now.
It also depends on how hot you're running the engine when you spray.
The idea is to keep out of spark knock and detonation when you're spraying.

Autolite AR12 should work well for the bottle.
They are taper-seat. If you have flat-seat heads for some reason then go with AR51.

Again it depends on where exactly you are right now, and such things as if you're getting spark knock at WOT now.

If you're going to be running near 200*F and you don't know exactly where you are right now, then go ahead and pull the 4 degrees.
