I've read so many threads on how people get away with no tuning and no retard up to a 100 shot. Figured I would be one of them.

But for a wideband 02 and a tune would be close to another $1k, that would bring up my total to almost $3k, I don't think so. Granted I could use the o2 in the future (just like the fuel pump), but that's a long ways away.

JB,
We always suggest knowing if the car is running rich or lean. The guys that just put it on and hope its right are the guys that always tear something up. Then they blame it on nitrous.

When using power adders no matter what type air fuel is critiacl. So is timming, and fuel supply.

I think we need to back up a minute and figure out why your car is pinging..
Its either running lean from not enouigh fuel pump or needs bigger fuel jets. Or it has to much timming. The spark plug gap could be a problem but shoudl not cause pinging.

I just reread your origianal post. It says the fuel pressure drops to the low 50s.
How low exactly and how does it recover?

Dave

No one should run nitrous for any length of time without knowing if their setup is lean or rich. It should be the first disclaimer when reading the instructions and preclude every sale.
on big shots....yes....what about a 100 wet shot? the PCM should be able to handle that all day with adjusting itself....right???? AS long as tr6s are in...

It drops to about 58psi, hard to read because it jumps so fast.

My car is doing the same thing. Runs great in first and half of second and then starts missing all the way through third WTF?

Nitrous outlet plate kit with 62n 38f jets, 38* of timing pulling 8 out with the mallory 685, walbro 255 pump with racetronix hotwire kit and new fuel filter Bottle had 9 pounds in it and was at 1050 at the begining of the run and 800psi at the end of the run. Runs great in first and half of second but then starts to miss and lose alot of power. It even detonated once when pulling 6* of timing so I upped it to 8*. 91 octane pump gas as well. I'm thinking I could be going rich still from pressure loss?

You should not be seeing that amount of pressure drop. You either have a bad bottle fill or there is not as much nitrous in the bottle as you think.

First thing we need to determain is why the huge pressure drop.
How is the bottle mounted in the car?
If you hold the bottle in your hands and crack open the valve does it stay a huge white solid cloud?

The bottle is mounted like this. See pic. When I purge there is a nice white cloud of nitrous. Maybe the angle of the bottle is not enough? It is olmost flat with a sligh angle.

Here is a vid, I mean sound clip of the run. You can hear it breaking up in third. http://s170.photobucket.com/albums/u...sticvsz282.flv

That was the second run.
Here is the first run.It pulled better in third except for a little detonation at the end. http://s170.photobucket.com/albums/u...=stivsz281.flv

That's exactly what mine was doing; turned out to be a bad ground. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure my problem is loss of bottle pressure and not enough nitrous in the bottle. I'm going to get the bottle topped off, 10lb's this time, and spray it in third gear and see if it still does this? And go from there. It shouldnt be dropping 200 psi on one run.
