Default FL Heat + Nitrous bottle in car =

I wanted to check to make sure everything was set before a track event that I just attended. Turned the bottle on, went to the gauge and was like, "Damn, gauge is messed up"......then I looked at it again, and said to myself "OH ****, the bitch is pegged on the Other side". Closed bottle.

Might want to double check the guage after you get the pressure down. I have seen them get messed up after being pegged like that. It not so much that the gauge is broken as the needdle just won't zero out, so if the pressure is 900 it might point to 1000, and at 0 it would be at 100.

bottle is rated for a working pressure of 3000, so if the burst disc didnt go, and you didnt try to use the noids, you should be OK....

id cool the bottle down a bit though.. lol.

Yeah, you don't wanna try and purge that out as it will just freeze up the solenoid with that kind of pressure.

Once I turned the bottle off I thought about purging the pressure out. Glad that I didn't.

I ran the car that night once the pressure lowered. Worked fine.......well, nitrous worked fine, dang car wouldn't shift into third, but that's a whole different story.

mine pegged out one time.
drove out sat night, left it outside for the morning. with the heat and black leather..... it was kinda scary.
if i leave it in the garage out of the sun, the inside of the car stays extemely cool and my bottle stays at around 1000psi.
but just cruising down the road in the heat, it will be in the 1200 range.

The pic was cool, but the quote in your sig was PRICELESS.

Lots of good info in this thread about how to deal with too much bottle pressure safely. Thanks next, MrDude_1...

It's always good to post up what works and what doesn't. I tried to relieve a sun overheated bottle threw the purge

Yeah, I agree with all that pressure you could mess the noids up for sure. I will usually use the purge to regulate the pressure up to around 1250-1300 or lower.

Fortunatally I've never had it above that.

That's how i ended up breaking my gauge. Came out of work one day and i heard a hiss. Grabbed the bottle and my hand came back full of that gooey oil inside the thing. Yuck! (new NX gauge was like 33 bucks tho...not too bad)
