I'm getting my NOS hooked up and I bought Jimmy Jam's switch, that goes where the ash tray is.
there is a tube that hooks to the A4 shifter. is that needed. ie. neutral safty switch or what??. I'm having a difficult time getting the switch plate to go flush because the wires hit the damn thing.

The tube is most likely the brake-shift lock tubing. It is needed unless you d/c it. A little late now, but should have looked under the ashtray area to find the clear spot before drilling!
