Progressive controller and NX DP

Progressive controller and NX DP OK guys as some of you may know I just bought a 98 Z28 with a BUNCH of mods on the car(full suspension, lunati 383, and an NX 4 solenoid DP kit set on a 300 shot just to mention a few).
I want to take it slow with the car and get used to how things work on the car before I make any banzai passes, and am thinking instead of changing all the jets in the NX kit why cant I use a controller and set it to like 50% and just shoot a 150 shot to get aquanted after I get used to the car on just motor.
I have been reading on the FJO controller and it looks like a very nice piece, but would like to hear what you guys think.
Will the FJO controller do what I want??
Is this a good idea or no??
Will this be hard on anything like the solenoids??
