Just curious... since they're both rated at 150hp, what *exactly* did you notice between the dry and wet kits that made the wet kit better?

I was thinking of buying a Cold Fusion Pro dry kit, but have also been thinking of a wet kit instead. Still haven't really made up my mind between dry or wet yet.

Wet kits tend to hit harder. Do you have any before/after dynos? If it actually runs faster its because more nitrous is going into the motor, or the A/F ratio is a bit leaner than before. But most likely your previous dry kit was not really injecting 150hp worth of nitrous into the motor. What kind of solenoids were you using and with what jetting? I'm assuming they were the little NOS powershot noids?

One thing to note is NOS kits are flywheel rated and TNT are rear wheel rated as far as power goes. So 150 at the wheels is like 170 at the flywheel (12% loss) and a 150 hp flywheel shot is only about 130 at the wheels so there's a 20 hp difference right there. Plus TNT kits are notorious for actually making a little more power (especially torque) than the rating. Some say wet kits hit harder some don't but as for the numbers they show an automatic increase in power.

My90Iroc, is correct, NOS rates at the flywheel whereas TNT under rates at the rear wheels, so this is not an apple to apples comparison. This is one of the reasons dry gets a bad rap. If you want'ed more power from your dry, to equal your TNT feel, you should have jetted it for such. As was said, x amount of nitrous with same a/f will in fact produce the same basic numbers wet or dry. Remember, the specified ratings that the manufactures state can be low end like NOS or high end like TNT, but it really means nothing if you understand the fact that you can basically jet what ever kit for whatever rwhp you want. The NOS 5177 dry can be set-up right out of the box to do a 300hp shot if you know how to do it, so... Now with that said, I am glad you are happy with your new found power and kit.
