I you have the stock 10 bolt rearend, you should be more concerned about what will happen to that. (especially with some sticky tire) Tranny should live a while if you don't miss too many shifts. Clutches are always going to take a beating depending on the way you launch.

If you plan to do much racing from a dig, get a 12 bolt, a better choice is to get a 9" with a locker.

i am not planning on spraying in first gear, just for fear of the rear end, and i dont think i will be doing any racing at the track.

Well, if you just stick to highway "roll on" racing and can shift well, the trans will live directly proportionate to the number of times you race. Most damage comes when racing from a dig, with DRs or ET streets. If you can resist hammering it from the stoplights, it will live a while. "Power shifting" is hard on things as well, so if you can avoid those your tranny and clutch will last longer. Have fun!!

My 10bolt is still holding, not one single problem. I'm on my 3rd clutch this year though, 2nd since feb. I have cut 1.7s spraying just off the line.
