Should you heat shrink all connections?
Yeah I have heard that some people recomend/prefer heat shrinking connections. Should only the soldered wire connections be heat shrinked? Are wire connecters ok? Please enlighten me.
depends on how much time you have, or how much money you want to spend. When me and a few friends did mine, we soldered all of then and then used heat shrink. It took a little longer, but i feel like its better quality, and would rather take longer the first time than have to try and find an electrical problem.

If you want a good job and don't want to have a problem in the future and have to trouble shoot looking for a bad connection, soledring and heat shrink is the best way to go.
If you only crimp the connectors you are asking for trouble if you just use pliers instead of the correct crimping tool.
I personally use the crimp on. Easier to find at the store.
I pull the plastic off, crimp on lightly, just enough to hold, than soldier.
I was in the US Navy, so I have been soldiering my whole life.
It is not that hard, when you know how. Use good flux, keep clean & grease free.
Use an iron that is preped right and go for it. I usually shrink mine for the extra vibration protection. All the home centers around here have several sizes of shrink.
I try to use my heat gun, but in an emergency, a lighter will do.

For anyone who does not know---only use rosin core solder on electrical connections. The flux is in the center of the solder.
Never use any form of acid flux or acid core solder on electrical connections. It will cause the connection to corode.
