13's on Nitrous i cant get out the 13's. WTF is wrong, is it the driver. only mods are lid, bellow, filter, borla exhaust w/o plate, and nitto D/R's. my best time N/A was 60' 2.146 1/4 13.878 mph 102.61 nitrous jetted at 75 hp shooting from first gear up at 3000rpm and shutting off at 5200rpm manualy. 60' 2.164 1/4 13.218 mph 109.75 60' 2.155 1/4 13.180 mph 109.71 my buddy with a 01 ws6 full weight & 290 lb driver, mods slp flo pac, ported TB, and cut out, on street tires got a best of 13.4 @ 103. and it was his first time at the track. :emb: afterwards we did a N/A street run 1 passanger in his car, and i would beat him. Whats going on? |
wth?.. |
The power is there as indicated in the trap speed. When you shut off the nitrous at 5200 are you shifting at 5200 as well? The best thing to do is to spray through the shift. Sounds like you also probably are having issues hooking up to the pavement. Dont feel bad i ran a 13.1 @ 121 MPH one time on a 150 shot, no traction till i hit third. |
What is your car running w/o the N2O? |
he said 13.8 @ 102 |
Put down the cell phone and leave on the 2nd yellow! :judge: J/k. Sounds like you just need a few more trips to the strip. It's all about the timing. |
that 60' needs a bit of work and you should get a window switch to turn on the n2o at 3000 and off at 5900-6000. |
Yep, it's all in that 60'er, get it down and you'll be amazed at what you run. Keep at it, and listen to the above posts. I can't believe I am going to say this, but when I first got my Z06, i was running 13's , but with a little practice and some tires I was able to get the time in my sig, and that was about the 5Th pass with DRs (still my best stock time). I would lauch at about 1700 rpm anything after that and the tires started crying. and I did healthy burnout, tires at 18 psi. the only thing i liked was my trap speed, which i hope can net me a better time. |
Stall converter , Tune and slicks , any more mods you do to your car should be suspension , weight reduction Ill trade some one my built m6 for your built 4l60e auto http://video.ls1tech.com/recentvideo...68017a291a.htm |
Yeah the 60 is no good maybe get a hold of some MT street radials but the verter will help a ton too |

I wouldn't spray through the shifts on an A4. I would focus on the launch. Alter your technique depending on if you get tires or not. How much wear are on the Nittos? I noticed with my Nittos once they got worn down too far they didn't like to hook as well. Try some E/T Street Radials. They hook awesome, even on my M6 car. Maybe try this. Practice your N/A launch. Once you're out of the hole and rolling, then spray it. Play with the activation point until you find the earliest point you can spray it. For what it's worth my best trap was 109mph and that was a 12.XX pass. The power is there... You just need to get it to the ground. |
To be honest I don't think it's your 60 ft. Even though it's not the best, it's defintley not the worst. With that 60ft I think you should still be in the 12's on a 75 shot. Not by much but still. Have you dynoed your car with the spray? |
Somethings up, I'm running just as good on motor as you are.. |
Tires are almost new, about 4,000 miles but show now wear. I haven't dynoed it. Me and a buddy with a LT1 camaro run the same at the track :emb: Me and my buddy did some street test runs earlier. my 98 a4 T/A mods are exactly: WS6 hood,FRA mod, TB bypass, Lid, filter, bellow, Borla exhaust w/o plate and 555r D/R's VS. 01 a4 T/A ws6 mods are exactly: FRA mod, TB bypass, ported TB, Lid, filter, SLP cold air, LS6 manifold, timing tricker resistor, 8.5 MSD wires, and WS6 exhaust w/ a cut-out. Tires 275/40/17 Riken Raptor. He ran a best of 13.4 @ 103 N/A 1/4 mile i would be 1 cars lenght behind his rear bumber. On a N20 run i would be about 2 cars lenght in front of his front bumper :emb: . I know that street racing ain't the same as a track run, but i just wanted to see what I could do out here. I think something is up but scared to think about, and dont know where to start looking. |
Your 60' is killing you. Trapping at 109 you should be running mid 12s. What is your bottle pressure? It could be getting low towards the top end of the track. A good converter in your car would amaze you. Try unbolting the end links on the front sway bar and watch that 60' drop down in the 1.90 range. |
I dont have a gauge to monitor PSI. Before I went to the track I dipped the bottle in hot water and mounted it in the car. Bottle blanket on order, but i guess might as well place an order for a heater and gauge. |
raise tire pressure up to about 20 psi and get some suspension mods, that should help |
You don't have an oiled K&N air filter do you? Because I've seen guys that oiled the filter too much, or on the wrong side, and the oil gets all over the MAF sensors and loose a bunch of power. Happened to my friend while he was dynoing his car. Took that MAF off, sprayed the sensors with batery terminal cleaner, and gained 30hp. |
