Spark plug wires advance timing?
Spark plug wires advance timing? I'm running a 100 shot on a bolt on (long tubes, exhaust, lid) untuned. I was wondering if switching from the stock to MSD plug wires would affect my timing at all. I've heard that you should pull 2* timing for every 50 shot is that something i should worry about?
Plug wires have nothing to do with your timing. They just get the spark from the coil to the spark plug. Some wires are more efficient than others. Get a set of wires with a lower OHM rating. That means there will be less resistance for the spark traveling through them.
and there's no reason to pull timing for less than a 150 shot unless you're already experiencing some pinging. Just make sure your timing isn't advanced. That's all there is to the whole 'timing' thing.
