NX Elect. Pressure Gauge Isn't Working??

Have a NX Electric Pressure Gauge that sits in the ashtray of my Vette next to the NX Switch Panel. :)

Has worked fine for last 6 months, but bottle was out of the car and just put it back in. The smaller NX Pressure Gauge on the Actual Bottle works fine.

Today I put the bottle back in the car plugged everything in and the Gauge worked, I was getting a reading. Then as I was driving it went to 0. Then I was at the dyno and turned the key on and off and all of a sudden it worked.

Now However, it is not Reading Pressure. It shows 0. I am not an electrician and the guy that put it in no longer work at my shop anymore.

Also I was purging the line with the Nitrous that was left in the line (Bottle closed) and at the last second of purge the Gauge jumped up to 200 and went back to 0.

I hate Problems like this :bang: :(

Any ideas on what is happening or what to check? :eek2:

Thanks Guys!

Hmm sounds like a bad wiring connection some where.

Thanks Dave. It was working Intermittently, and now not at all. I wonder if the gauge is unplugged. I am not sure what goes where and how it is installed so I am not sure if I should look at a wire or cable, the back of the gauge that Plugs in? Maybe it is unplugged? I am not sure how to get to it as it is where my cig lighter used to be.

It seems to be a loose wire or a short. :eek2:

There is a Male connector with 3 wires that plugs into the female connector attached to one side of the bottle (the other side of the bottle has the smaller NX Gauge screwed in and THAT smaller Pressure Gauge is working), somehow it isn't getting a connection or a reading to the electric ashtray gauge.............

Also, I am not sure where the power is being dervied from under the hood in my Vette for this gauge?I have a bottle opener, bottle heater all in the same trunk area, so it looks as if he maybe he spliced the wires for the Electric Gauge (That plugs into the bootle) off the other main wires. he did a good job so all the wires are taped and hidden under the carpet. It could be a bitch to find and I am not sure what to even look for.

It did come on a few times earlier today, so that is why I think it is a loose connection. Now it is NOT COMIN ON anymore. It does Light up though.

If the gauge works (isn't broken), has power & ground, and is unplugged from the sensor, the needle will slowly go all the way to 1200psi, or whatever it is.

If the gauge works (isn't broken), has power & ground, and is plugged into the sensor, but there's no line pressure, the needle will go to zero.

So, my guess is that you have the working gauge, the power, the ground, but your pressure sending wire is loose.

That sounds Right, THANKS!!!!!!!!, BUT

Which one is the pressure sending wire? That male/female connection that plugs into the Nitrous Bottle in my trunk has 3 colored wires, one I know is purple, them maybe black and white? I need to go look. I am not sure where to look as this is wired all under my carpet. and all the wires are taped together. It came on for a second yesterday, so it sounds like a loose wire.

I just need to know where to look or what to do.

Thanks Again!

Thanks! ANy ideas on HOW to test if there is a current going to the gauge. A voltage meter, but where do I put it. I think the sending of the pressure is not working, so I am not sure if that is a loose wire, a wire that is unplugged?

Remeber I have a male female connector that snaps together. The femail is on the bottle and the male has all the wires attached to it, 3 to be exact. I think Black, gray/white, Purple
