Default TNT Power Ring PROBLEMS!

I cannot for the life of me get my power ring on my throttle body. I have done everything in the world including removing the tb and getting it on a level surface and pressing evenly to get it on and it just won't go. I have a 98 car, does that make a difference? I have ruined 2 of the power ring o rings so far and am down to my last one (they sent me 2 extras upon request). The tb keeps cutting them in half.

Has anyone had this problem or am I the only one?

My 98 TB had a "lip" right on the end of the end of it. I just ground it off, it was still a PITA to get on but i never cut the o-ring.

i already ground a little of it off and smoothed it so it wouldn't be sharp, but you ground the entire lip? it doesn't try to slide off or anything now?

grind the lip apply a little grease(very little) and use a hydralic or manuel press.

hammer and a block of wood here. was a MOTHERFUKER to get on there. also used a little heat (not enough to melt the o-ring, but enough to make it pliable and make the pieces expand a tad). believe i also greased the tb i kind of forget i know it took over an hour.

the powerring won't back off because it has a set screw that you tighten down after installing it. it is soo tight anyway you don't even need the screw, but if you ground the lip off just locktight the screw in there and you are golden.

BFH and ground the lip off too, along with a little lube.
