Default How much more nitrous to hit 133mph traps???

I'm trapping 127-128mph right now running high 11.0's. I have a bolt on, heads and cam corvette with 3.90 gears and DR's. I'm also spraying 150shot through Dave's NX plate system.

So how much more nitrous will I have to spray to hit 132-133 mph traps? Will I hit that goal if I bump from 150 to 175?

I never got anything close to 6 mph with adding 25 HP.

I actually went from 150 to 175 myself.

Maybe this will give you an idea: (based on C5 Vette at 3450 lbs.)

edit: Here's the spreadsheet if you want to play with the numbers

On the spread sheet, it seems to be BHP? as I went 128.9 with 550rwhp and about 636bhp. The sheet says 636 should be 130, so I am real close, I guess.

So I need to see over 600rwhp to see over 130mph trap speeds?

what kind of mph increase did you see when you went from 150 to 175?

This can't be right! I hit 127mph with around 550rhp. I have much more in the car, I just need to fine tune the car to see the extra hp.

I have seen way different ET's with the MPH your showing.

For example, I have dyno'd 405rwhp N/A and I run 117-119mph N/A

My car with full interior (cloth) and power windows, no ttops, went 107 traps with just a catback and lid for my HP mods.

I estimate, but can go weigh it tomorrow that my car weighed ~3500lbs

well, before everyone rags on the numbers, they are estimates and meant to answer the original question of adding 25hp. If you don't like my spread sheet, try this one.. very similar numbers though

Jon if ya add 15% for drive train loss your 550rwhp becomes 632.5bhp (at crank). So i think it's a close estimate. However, that's with all the stars in alignment-great run and everything just right with the 6-speeds.

The calculator comes out corrrect for my car 3300lbs, 128.9 = 551.6rwhp. So it does seem the spread sheet is crank hp.

Thanks for the spreadsheet and links. I wasn't trying to bash your products, just that I didn't think they were acurate.

I think now that they are pretty close! And I need to see about 50-75 more rear wheel horsepower to see the traps I want.

Yea, we both need to crack at least 130mph this year. The limit for our tracks is 135mph then a full cage. I think the 600rwhp range should be good for low 130's? You going to make Feb 4th? I am picking my bottles up today, and some 104 Trick.

Todd, I think the spread sheet and calculator are pretty close. Thanks for sharing.

That was a good post Todd, as with anything, nothing is cut in stone.

Good job, thanks.

As for my slow car, don't forget I was running 155-159. Adding 25 HP didn't do much, 1-2 Mph.
I was at 1050 HP, so 25 HP is 1/2 the increase % compared to 500 HP.
Weather made more change than adding 25 HP.

I don't think the Vette will make it. Ellis has the Vette to fix the clutch. I will definately come out to watch and support though!

I'm going to be buying some of that trick fuel from you this year..........if you'll let me. I'm going to aim for low 130's for traps. That will be my only gaol for the year!
