Default ringlands and nitrous

is it true from what i hear constantly that running nitrous especially like a 100-150 shot will mess up your ringlands and make them go real soon?

.

Every piston is different, lower and looser rings are always better, safer.

The amount of meat in certain areas varies greatly from company to company, so it's hard to make one general statement.

Just remember, lower & looser.

The stock LS1 pistons are not very tolerant to detonation. If you set your system up at 11.5-12.0 and pull a little timing your motor should live a long, happy life. Too lean w/ stock or added timing and you might be fishing chunks of piston out of your exhaust. Forged pistons give you a little more room for tuning errors.

Lean out bad enough with stock pistons and they will easily have a hole in the top of them. Forged ones are a bit more forgiving but still can break if you go dangerously lean. Keep your shots healthy and rich and yopu wont have many problems.
