leave it in. I actually bought some to put in my custom fuel cell. It will keep the fuel from sloshing around (out the vent) and insure the pump suction stays in fuel

Listen to Ray... I made the mistake of not listening to him. Now 4 months later I'm doing exactly what he told me to do back then. Hey Ray, where did you say get the foam from? I just got my fuel system from nitrous outlet in the mail.

It should be a an open foam that fills most of the void in the cell. While it looks to take up all the room in the cell it is of an open enough nature that it really does not displace enough of the actual fuel capacity to be a factor.

I bought mine from Jeg's. It comes in different size blocks there was a couple ways to buy it and some were cheaper than others. They sell it as a pre-cut replacement for the different size cells and as random blocks. I cant remember wich way was cheaper. You will have to cut it to sizes that will fit your cell.

I just read that the fuel cell foam can help prevent the fuel cell from igniting. Its suppose to be filled with 80% foam (takes up about 3% of the cell). The foam fills in space so that there is less air/vapor in the cell. If there is a fire in there the lack of air will keep it from igniting. Basically leave it in, or get some if you dont have any.
