Default How safe is NITROUS?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ZEX-8...spagenameZWD1V

I was thinking about getting a nitrous kit for my 99 trans am ws6 and was wondering how safe would it be to run it occasionally at the drags? I wont use it everyday and be stupid with it, just at the drag strip and to purge. How much time will this shave off my e.t. with a catback and lid? If i dont run it all the timee, will it really hurt my motor? let me know. If that is a good kit, also let me know and if theres better ones out there.

thanks for the input!

The nitrous forum might be a better place for this.

if you run it occasionally you shouldnt have any problems. with a 100 shot you should see a 1 second off et aprox. just like stated above use all the safety features and maybe a fuel pump and you should b ok. i currently dont have any safty items, but I will now that i go with the a4. make sure you get tr6 plugs, 91 octane min. and if you are going with any thing over 125 get some tuning, just for saftey. some will tell you no tunning will be needed untill 150 but that is borderline IMO.
