Default what size shot

ok i have a 98 transam with 233/239 cam and texas speed head ...what would be a good shot to run on my car with out taking chance of damaging my motor ...i guess bacically what is the biggest shot u guys think i can run safely ..also what should i have my timing set at with that shot ....i just need that little extra help against a buddy of mine

Put a 100 shot wet on and no worries at all.

What fuel pump are you using? If it is stock, i'd consider upgrading before you spray.

get a new fuel pump and throw a 150 wet shot on there... ull be fine with no worries but i wouldnt go bigger than that

i'd try a 100 shot first. that should really wake the bottom end up and still give you quite a bit stronger pull up top. i would be scared of a 150 shot with a stock bottom end with your mods,even though some have run that big or bigger of a shot with even more mods than you.
and as already said,if you haven't already upgraded the pump it would be wise to do so.

dont mean to hijack this thread,but it may pertain to his question.I have a 98. Heads ,cam and fastintake in a stalled A4 and put down 417rwhp 407rwt,and was wondering the same thing,of how big i can safely go.Would we need rod bolts being that we are 98 or does that only pertain to large cam combos(i have a tr224 cam).

ehhh dont go 500 shot, Im running a 150 shot on my LS1, with no worries at all, I even have no detonation with 29 degrees adavnce, between 100 and 150, and cold plugs and proper precautions, N20 is super safe!
