purge wiring question??

purge wiring question?? I have another post going about problems with my Zex purge. I figured out it's not the noid, it's not the switch, it's in the wiring somewhere. I did not wire the car, and I cannot find a fuse or relay that the purge is wired through. The car is a Z06 and things are very tight in there!!
Anyhow, can I cut the existing wires, and run a seperate wire from the NX switch(already has power source) to the purge noid and put a 10amp fuse in that line, or do I even need the fuse. Sorry for the noob question, but I really am trying to figure all this stuff out, and hate to say, but I am "electronically retarded"!!!
