Default protecting a painted bottle?

Is there anything I can put on an 860 bottle heater to keep from scratching my freshly painted bottle? Maybe a piece of nomex or some high temp electrical tape?

Also I saw a company that had a plate to mount on the bottom of a 10 or 15lb bottle to keep it form getting scratched but I can't seem to find it now...

Nitro Daves has rubber covered brackets. That might help.

I already bought some black weatherstriping and used it on the brackets but it still has to sit in the plate for the heater to work...

What about a polished piece or strips of aluminum, or could the edges of the 860 be smoothed.

What are conv bottle heaters made of?

I got it from lowes. I didnt' get it close to the bottom of the heater so it shouldn't be a problem. I'll take some pics of the new set-up tonight and show you what I'm talking about...

I put sticky foam sheets around my bottle brackets to keep my polished bottle from getting scratched. Two years later and not a single scratch.
