What cylinder setting should be used on an LS1, instructions say set on 1, its not reading correctly at all. I searched and people have said it should be set on 4. Is that corrcect?

try it on 4 and see what happens.
LS1 are unique in that it depends on where you pull your tach signal from, coil or computer tach.

 

come off ONE of the coils and set it to 1 cyl...

-or-

keep pressing the button till you see your engine's correct RPM on the MSD box. Thats when you know which one to use!
That digital window switch is the best thing in the world IMO.

 

I just installed one of these last week...and had the same dillema..the instructions are not clear. If you tap into the PCM wire, you should set the cylinder setting to 4. If you tap into a coil wire you should set the cylinder setting to 1. The instructions only mention setting the cylinder setting at 1 for an LS1, but do not mention wether the cylinder settin should change due to which locatin you choose to tap into for your input wire.

 

Thanks for all the responses. I tapped into the tach wire. Set it to 4 and it works great.
