Default Building a motor

For all low end grunt, and I want to spray it for my high end. I am looking at something like a 300 shot....The motor will be a 383, do I need to forge the whole low end, or just pistons? I will be at about 12:1 cr.

The rods are a key factor. Not to mention propper ring land distance on the pistons.
