Default Nitrous Question

I was wondering if I forge my engine next year and if I can get the car to run 10.50's without spray, can I spray like a 50-100 shot in 2nd gear through 4th gear to get my car into the 9's? My car is a 98 Vette with a Vortech blower and I should be in the 10's next time out. The reason I dont want to spray off the line is that I dont want to start breaking rears. Someone I was talking to said that if I didnt spray in 1st gear, that the spray would only raise the MPH, but not lower the ET. I dont see why this would happen, as I thought HP is HP, no matter when you have it. Can anyone answer this question?

a 100 shot sprayed in 2nd up will improve your ET's and MPH...just not as much as if it was sprayed off the line (assuming traction).

50-100 may not be enought to go from 10.50 to 9.99 tho' but a 100 shot will be close

Thats what I thought. Also, I was told that because of being FI, the cooling effect of the nitrous would make me have more power than the shot sprayed, like a 50 shot may be worth 75-100 HP. Is this true as well?

yes FI cars get dual benefit from the nitrous...how much you gain will be dependant on the IAT without the nitrous
