switch to colder plug?
tried a search, LS1tech doesnt like my searching.
asking on behalf of a friend. he has a 99 TA 6 speed with a built 346. AFR 205 heads, TTP equalizer v3 cam. it makes about 450 rwhp on motor. hes currently spraying a 200 shot putting down about 650 rwhp. he also runs a standalone fuel system with 102 octane. he's currently using NGK TR6 plugs and was asking if he should switch to a colder plug when he moves up to a 250 shot. car should be making close to 700 rwhp. heres what the chart says...
Nitrous (one step colder)
Heat Range: 6
Gap: .035 - .038
Plug: NGK TR6 (stock number 4177); NGK TR6IX (stock number 3689); Autolite 103; Denso IT-20 (stock number 5326)
Nitrous (two steps colder)
Heat Range: 7
Gap: Consult
Plug: NGK BR7EF (stock number 3346); NGK TR7IX (stock number 3690); Autolite AR94; Denso IT22 (stock number 5327)
so would it be wise to switch to the colder plugs?
