Bottle Position ??
Will bottle position affect the nitrous efficiency?
I finished my install a couple of weeks ago. On test day, With a 75 dry hit, I gained .5 seconds off my quater mile with massive wheels spin. I ran 3 times on that day. I went back last friday and felt the initial hit on first gear and then it was all gone and my times were only .1 faster than N/A. It happened on both runs.
First time out my bottle weighed 25.5 LBs
Second time out it weighed 19LBs.
Vehicle in question is a 2003 z06 and the bottle is mounted in the rear center compartment in a horizontal position (left to right). Most of the mounting positions I've seen on the vette's are straight mounted (back to front).
Do you guys think is a bottle position/mounting problem? If so, how come it didn't happen the first time?

What you need to do is rotate the head so it's pointing about 45* or so. What this does is put the pick up tube towards the rear, so when accelerating the tube is covered. Also, make sure the valve end is higher.
Here's a pic of my buddies mounted this way as per NOS's direction.
