Default Running rich on wet kit

I have a 02 rans Am A4 with exhaust and a lid. I have the NOS 5168 wet kit installed with a msd Window switch. I am running the fuel off the fuel rail. On motor i am about a 12.3 AFR when i have it jetted for 100hp shot it goes way rich to about 10.1-10.3 and stays there. I tried switching out the nitrous jet to a .055 and that helped out a little about a 10.5-10.6 AFR. Is this a common problem? I know rich is good but i think that is a little bit to much i would like to be about a 11.5 AFR.

On a side note i ran a personal best of a 12.4 @ 116.97 with a blazing 2.08 60'.

rich is safe but you are leaving some power on the table...try to lean out the fuel jet one size and see what happens. I believe most kits are designed to be rich so they are safe...

running a little heavy on fuel will just keep it together... you could adjust the tune to about 12.5 to 12.7 n/a and that would probably get you to about 11.1 or so... which is still leaving a bit of pwr on the table, but not enough to make a blazing world of difference for the risk that you'd be taking.

Thanks for the help i think i may try to go a size smaller on the fuel jet. I am hoping to hit 12.1-12.0's on what i have for mods now. I ran Mickey ET streets but all i did was spin off the line then when the kit came on at first. i tried runnin 20, 18 and 15lbs. in them but no luck. The track was pretty slick too.

I've been playing with a set of drag radials, and I found taking air otu to make them actually worse, I started at 16, went down to 15, 14 and even as low as 13, no good. I ut them back up to 18 cold and they were alot better, next time I go I'm gonna go to 19 and try that, and if that works put them to 20.

what rpm is the kit coming on at, if it is coming on too far out of the hole it could be spinnign bacause the nose is on the way back down by the time it comes on hence the spinning. What rpm is the kit engaging at and what do you have for a converter... maybe try dropping the engagment rpm a little so the tires get one big hit, might work better. It's something that has to be played with.

The kit is coming on at 3200 now till 6000. i have tried the 3600, 3800 and 3400 the same thing happens. I am all stock besides the exhaust and air lid I'm a vert also. I do not turn the kit on till after the 60' the first time i tried out the hole i performed a 330' burn out for the crowd with a impressive 13.8 @118.

I am going to try more psi in the tires next saturday. I think i will start at 24 and go down from there.

How is New England this time of year? I am from Springfield, MA.
