Default My First Nitrous Kit!

Well i just got my nitrous kit from my boss he had lkaying around forever it comes complete with:

15lb bottle

all lines and fitting

bottle heater

gauges

window switch

and purge solenoid

the kit is a dry kit, my questions are, do i need to do anything before i spray like change plugs? obviously the MAF reads the cooler air and adds more fuel. I dont need to have a tune to retard the timing do I? im just wondering if there are any precautions i need to take? thanks a lot~!

Yup you will need colder plugs, it depends on what size shot you are going to spray but for safety I would go ahead and have it tuned with the juice.

Get NGK tr6's and gap them at .035. I would alsotune it for the shot you are going to run. Since it is a dry shot I would look at bigger injectors and fuel pump.

Like mentioned above you will need to go to a set of NGK TR6's which come pre gaped at .35 ( needs to be checked to make sure the gap is correct ). Depending on what size you are goin to run you might possibly need a tune. If you stick around the 100hp shot area then you wouldn't need a tune. If you venture up to the 150 range then a tune isn't a must, but i would suggest you get one ( So that away you get the full potential out of the shot ) or at least put it on the dyno to check AFR ( Air Fuel Ratio ) and to check the injector duty cycle via LS1edit or HPtuners.
