Default How far do the purge line(s) need to stick out???

I was told that NHRA requires you to have so much purge line sticking out.

I did a search and found this:
**********************************
PURGE: Nitrous purge system permitted, purge must exit at the cowl area away from inlet area of the hood or hood scoop. Purge tube must exit via a straight tube a minimum length 4 inches protruding from the cowl, and may not be within 12 inches of the opening of the hood. Plume or nail head at end of line in prohibited. (NMRA)

and

One additional solenoid may be added for a purge system. Purge outlet must not be directed toward the entrance to the hood scoop (purge must exit outside of engine compartment). No multiple plates or fogger-type nozzles are permitted. Nitrous may not be used in conjunction with a turbo or supercharger. Nitrous electronic controllers are permitted.
********************************

I already mounted my lines out my lower snorkels on my TA but not 4". Looks like I can't even have it close to the scoops.

Anyone know about this? I want to go race but hate to drive there and find out my car won't pass tech.

Those look more like class rules to me, and not safety-type rules. You planning on class racing the car?

looks to me like it's for a class that is limited to a max orifice size on the n2o solenoid. This rule would keep someone from directing their purge to an area where it could be pulled into the intake track while going down the track.
