I got all of that stuff for a deal too. Dont think I bought all of this stuff overnight though, Ive been accumulating it for the better part of about 8 months.

Now Ive got: full rebuild kit for t56, new ram HD clutch, new master/slave, new flywheel, cam, double springs, timing chain, heads (which are going to be ported/polished), gaskets, shortblock.

I got everything for less than 80% of regular retail, I just shopped around a ton. Bought things when I saw them on huge sale or NIB/unused parts. Im the guy you hate- driving a hard bargain ready with cash/paypal immediately.

Your set up is nice and sure it works but unless i was on a strick budget I spend the extra money thats just me

My only reason I went with 347 was because I had begun to accumulate the parts over a longer period of time. Of course I would have gone with the 408 but I also wanted to keep weight down. Thus: hardtop car with no power windows/locks, cloth interior, etc.. Car will look like a stock block car, but will be packing serious punch.

higher comp 400+ci blocks also sound bigger and badder, my 347 is going to have a stealthy cam in it.

Im not trying to sway anyone to stay 347, but if you have the block/crank, why not just stay with the stock stuff and save the weight?

I totally agree, if you are going to buy it part by part to get parts cheaper second-hand NIB, or on sale, etc. I totally agree. I was going to start doing that a while back because its going to be hard for me to drop $4k at once on a block (hell even $3k is going to be hard). Sounds like you put a solid motor together, that's probably what I'd be looking around for.

Thanks. My only goal was to have something that I dont have to think "what am I going to do with myself if this is the time that my motor finally decides to let go?" and more like well lets see, how big of a pill do I really need? lol

Its not hard to buy parts, its just time consuming. I dont have enough cash like most(Im assuming) to just drop 4 grand on a shortblock and then another 2 on heads, cam, etc.

I make enough every week to keep putting some away but I probably would have bought other pointless things or spent it on things other than the motor.. so I basically have a seperate acct for buying car parts. I like it this way better.
