This may factor into your decision- I've seen where wet kits have backfired and burned cars to the ground, how much more likely is that with a wet kit than with a dry kit? Or should he be worried about it at all?

Any of the forum Vendors can set you up with a Nice Dry Kit (Dynotune, Nitrous Outlet, HSW).

I bought a Dynotune Dry kit, and expieremented with Dry Nozzles (Dynotune, HSW and NX). The nozzle I eventually settled on was the NX Dry nozzle. Two reasons, one the NX nozzle is larger than the others (1/8 NPT vice the 1/16 NPT) and the NX nozzle is machined with the NX logo on the spray side of the nozzle so its easy to figure out where the nozzle is pointed (when changing jets, you may mess up the orientation) without filing the nozzle with a notch or marking it with a perm marker.

Beer99C5 makes a good point about the nozzle orientation. However, I think (maybe recently) dynotune has added a little notch on their nozzles to use for adjusting the spray direction (my dynotune kit has it anyway). I can only speak for dynotune, and so far I love it. I have however bought a solenoid to nozzle line from HSW and it was top notch too. If their kits are anything like this line i bought, I wouldnt hesitate buying from them either. Two thumbs up for Dynotune and HSW

BTW heres my Dynotune thread.

Feedback is welcomed.

Things to consider when picking your system is your abilities in tunning, current set up, and future plans.

After decideing if wet or dry best fit your set up and abilities I suggest comparing the components in the systems to determain what is best for you.

If I can help in any way let me know.. Ohh there is also a post around here somewhere explaining the things to look at when comparing nitrous systems..

All the vendors have nice kits, however, if i was just starting out I would go with HSW. Why, because they truly understand how to set-up and tune a dry hit/kit. This is probably the biggest down fall with going dry and not having the personal experiance, finding a tuner. We hear it all the time, can't find a tuner, the tuner or vendor said to get a wet kit. They are far and few between whom really understand the dry if ya have problems; and HSW know's all about nozzle tuning and locations. Just my opinion and insight, gleened from many hours on this site. If you were going wet, then I would say pick your vendor and you'll do fine, meaning any one of the three.

Which is generally safer for the size shot he wants? I'm sure that's high on his list of important things.

I'm in the research phase of putting a dry kit together, but I'm a nitrous newbie, so take this with a grain of salt... but, what's I'm hearing is the LS1 injectors are good for about 450 HP. I'm also hearing the stock injectors probably need replace with bigger ones if you want to do a shot bigger than 100 HP. In my situation, I already have mods and dynoed 380 at the wheels. I'm going to put bigger injectors in because a 100 HP shot puts me over 450 at the wheels.

I've heard great things about Nitrous Outlet, that's probably where I'm gonna get my kit. Make sure you get a fuel pressure safety switch and installing a window switch so you can program start and stop RPM is a good idea too.

Harris Speed Works makes a great kit. I never got to install mine, but everything was of great quality & I haven't heard of anyone with a problem from one of their kits.

Dynotune would be my next choice. They also offer some really good products & both compaines have great customer service over the phone & on this board.
