Default 402 questions??

Well snow has hit the north country. This of course means the car is tucked away nice and safe.. The draw back is the mind wanders and the "what if" stuff starts going thru the mind......

My new motor, a forged 402 runs great. After having the supercharged 427 last year, you always feel something is missing. (like power) When the motor was assembled, nitrous was not considered. Now, I'm thinking about it..

Here is the question,,,,Since I did not have nitrous pistons installed when the motor was built, what would be considered a "SAFE" shot to run? I used Diamond forged pistons and ARP head bolts. 11.5-1 compression.

NOTE.. I know nothing is safe if done improperly.

Thanks in advance for the imput.

Off the shelf pistons with stock ring spacing are usually good for a 200~250 shot. If you are uncertain as to what power levels you'd like to reach I would suggest starting out with our brute force line of kits so that they can easily grow with your needs. Any more questions please feel free to give us a call.

I have a friend that did the same thing. He went with a direct port 250. Everything seemed to work great over the summer
