Default What Are the Limitations of a Dry Kit?

Assuming bigger injectors are installed and the fuel pump is upgraded, how big of dry shot can be used before mixture distribution is a problem? In theory it looks like a dry shot has the potential to be safer and make more power than a wet kits but wet kits are more popular for higher hp set ups.

Am I missing something.

well, basically it all just comes down to tuning. putting the fuel where you want it when you want it there, so you dont roll around rich all the time. thats why you see alot of these racetronix setups becoming more and more popular, but even those have there limits. with a good set of injectors, a pump and the right tuning, you can spray as much as the fuel will support. but, how do you learn that limit? hope you have a wide band o2 basically it's all in knowing whats going on inside the cyllinders.

MAF reporting. You will max out the MAF. I think you can get around 700 rwhp dry safely.

you think it'd do it on a factory short block? im leaning very steadily towards dry only, but im wanting to get my fuel sorted out first. i remember reading some of your posts on the subject. good info, but you really think that the maf is the limiting factor here? why so?

No...not on a factory shortblock. I was thinking more of a forged setup. I personally would not go beyond 550 rwhp on a stock shortblock. And that could go at anytime. I have a freind here with a dual stage H&C stock short block with a dual stage running about 575-590 rwhp. Thats about the most ive seen.

The MAF/computer is the limiting factor because it can only report so much flow. With tuning and larger injectors you can scale it a long way...but it still has a limit.

THanks for the replys.

I see how the wet kits allow for 2 seperate tunes to maintain strong power without the juice and safe tune with the juice.

I am only thinkin about runnin 75hp. I like the dry kits because they dont hit as hard and dont have a fuel solenoid. Also I like how the maf adjust for bottle pressure.
