Default bottle fill woes

i read an n2o article in a drag racing mag. that when the botlle is full, 38% is gaseous nitrous and 62% liquid nitrous which is what you want to spray. so when going to the speed shop to get your bottle filled and say the shops bottle is at 12lbs, will you end up with more gaseous nitrous than you should compared to getting your bottle filled from a full mother bottle? i ask this ? cause i've had some runs that go to **** [pig rich and bogging] but it only seems to happen when the mother station is nearly empty and i get filled. it sucks when you go to the track and the shot is just not there. i log all my runs with w/b and efi live.

Maybe when you're not using a pump?

I know I sucked the mother bottle dry to fill my 15lb'er and I got 7 full passes(150 shot), and a few rips in the staging to purge it through the motor...And there was still nitrous left in the bottle when I was done at the track.

thanks! i gotta figure this out , can't be going to the track and falling flat on my face! it sucks. i'm looking at nano sys. too. it seems to me that when the mother bottle is full the fill goes much quicker. shouldn't the purge plume be like 3ft long? mine was like a ft. last time at the track. i was thinking if there is air in the bottle maybe my filter iced up, gonna ck. it this week for sure. i got a 15lb bottle too.

You should install a pressure gauge up by the solenoid somewhere. When you purge it see if it drops excessively. You could have debris in the line somewhere.

Or pop the lid and put power to just the n2o solenoid...You'll know right away if it's getting the full flow or not. Make sure you do it with the motor off and give the lid/bellows time to air out before you close it up and start the motor.

i got quick disconnects for the n2o noid just so i can power it up and ck. it. so i disconnect the supply line at the wet plate and then power up the noid with a makeshift sw. directly connected to the batt. right? i know if i do this the flex line is gonna fly like a whip, so i'll have to secure it with a clamp. thanks for the help.

just spoke with the nitrous outlet guys, and they said i have to make sure that my press. is at 1100psi and with the colder maybe the heater is not keeping up, and also the bottle heater was placed in the middle instead of the bottom lower side of the bottle. gonna get the nano for sure. sometime this week i'm gonna heat the bottle with some hot water go out and try it. see what happens.
