Default #7 cylinder in a LTx and nitrous?

What is it with the intake manifold that makes the #7 prone to problems after going higher than 200 to 250rwhp with nitrous? (This is with a plate or nozzles.) Are there any tricks to help this problem? Wider ring gap, colder plug for this cyl. higher octane, etc.?
Thanks for any help. Rick

I dont know if you have tried but I would try this in the Lt1 section as well.

Typically it is #8 on the LT1, and #7 for the LS1. But ported heads and intake can move the "hot" cylinder around. Yes you can run a colder plug in that cylinder but you will also tune the motor to that cylinder. So the rest of the motor will be a little richer. This is why we always suggest reading the plugs on larger shots, so that you can identify your engines hot cylinder.

This is also why direct port is better as it allows to richen that one cylinder without adding fuel to the whole motor.
