Default Upgrading fuel system

Tried a search, but didn't find the results I was looking for. How big of a wet shot can I run before I need to upgrade my fuel system? What is the best way to go about doing it? Do I need to add an inline pump? If so, which one is best, what are you guys running? TIA.

100 shot - wet. You may be able to get by with a 150 - but not for long. Leaning out on nitrous is a bitch

Great Question, I was wondering the same thing. From what I've heard our fuel pumps are only good to about 450hp safly and a 150 shot on a stock motor will definitly put you over that. When I put in jets for a 150 shot I'm defintly going to upgrade my fuel system, not sure how though.

I coudn't offer a suggestion without the rest of the information about the engine and the nitrous setup? A simple way to figure if your current pump is up to the task is to use this formula EXAMPLE: You have a 650 hp engine. 650hp x .5 = 325 lbs/hr (gasoline). Although you need to know how much your fuel weighs, assume for this example that it weighs 6.2 lbs/gal. 325 lbs/hr 6.2 = 52.42 gal/hr. Dividing by 60 (minutes per hour) yields .847 gal/ min (GPM). Once you have established the fuel needs for the power you motor will be making its simple to figure out weather or not the current pump your running is up to the task.

I run a dedicated fuel system just for the nitrous aside from what the motor uses. My nitrous system has a 1 gallon Jazz fuel cell in the front of the car just for the nitrous. I use a Magnaflow Quick Star 300 pump also dedicated just for the nitrous. The nitrous kit is NOS DP Pro Race Fogger with Stainless Annualar Nozzles. The kit was custom plumbed and flowed from Jeff Prock at Applied Nitrous Technologies. He did the recommendations and setup for the nitrous system. This kit is designed to flow up to 600hp if need be. Another great guy to speak to about LS1 nitrous setups is Wade at ARE, he's a great guy to talk to for accurate information about nitrous tunnning and setup. Besides the vast knowledge he has with LS1 combinations he also can sell ya the nitrous system designed for your application that will make power! Give him a call.

Hope this can help.
