misfire code due to fuel jet?
hello,i thought my nitrous system was running lean, so i put a 150 fuel jet in my 100 shot .the narrowband air fuel meter is giving me false readings and it's going in the trash, waste of money i know.but i threw a p0307 #7 cylinder misfire code on the bottle then it went out.was this because of the 150 jet? also the plugs look ok.please help.thanks
I would suggest you get it on a dyno and moniter the A/F with a wideband. As far as the misfire code not sure. I would clear it and then run on motor only until you get a tune and make sure you know what your A/F Ratio is. I bet the sponsers will chime in after the weekend.......
thanks madclown, the #7 plug looked brown on the insulator.the motor is stock and was dynoed and tuned at 12.8 na and on autotap its showing around 11.2 on the bottle, the narrowband guage i think gave me a false reading so i richened it up and got a misfire code.going to try the 100 fuel jet tomorrow.timing at 22 degrees.just worried about leaning out too much but i think i may be too rich.i have a fpss and lean shut down switch.gonna put the narrow band in the trash.it just goes crazy too much.i got autotap yesterday and i know its not on the money, but its alot better than tying into the o2 sensor i think. please help.thanks
tr6 plugs, stock everything else.dynotune 100 wet shot.i'm just wondering would being too rich would give me a misfire code.fuel pressure is 60 at idle, not sure at full throttle.new fuel filter and the one i replaced was clean.
rick, glad your here tonight .i shot the 100 shot 2 days ago with 26 degrees of timing with 150 fuel jet and 100 nitrous jet and did not get a misfire code.after going to my tuner and brought the timing to 22 degrees,i got the code.my tuner even told me i was probally too rich and said get rid of that narrowband guage.i think i got the code from being rich and bringing the timing down made it worse.going to go back to the 100 fuel jet tomorrow.i really think the narrowband guage messed me up.please commet.

yes...running it too rich will cause a missfire aswell. at this point your best solution would be to get it on the Dyno and see where its at before you go spraying it on the street. bring the timing back up and work from there. without knowing exactly where your A/F is, its hard to speculate if there really is a problem or if its just a tuning issue.
