396 Lunati Stroker.
I'm dumping my supercharger and going with a NA 396 with N20. With a solid built stroker motor how much could you spray with the direct port NXL system and the maximizer to ramp it up? How much can these built motors handle? The NXL kit goes up to 300HP. Any reason thats not a good idea? Compression would be no more than 11:1 but I know that doesnt matter too much with nitrous. 100 octane would be used for larger shots. I miss the instant bang of the N20 comparred to the RPM dependant power of the Centri SC...and the noise...and the PITA...
Thanks guys,

If all the internals( rods, crank, pistons ) are forged, heads studs, 100+ octane gas, and at least 3 step colder plugs, it should handle a 300hp shot.
you are going to have to find some way to upgrade ur fuel system... or have the NXL kit run on a seperate sys. There is no way u can run a 396 and 300 shot through the stock fuel lines... even with a intake and inline pump.

DontRevMe: I like the procharger but I've decided that I would rather have that same amount of power NA instead of with the power adder. I would probably like it more if I didnt have a stock motor. I get scared every time I take it up in the RPMs. I cant afford to have a 396 built and installed unless I sell the procharger to offset the cost a little. I ran N20 previously and I really like the instant power it provides.
T/A Medic: I'm having this done at Speed Inc and I'm going to have them put in a 420 LPH inline pump and all my lines will be replaced with larger ones. I was going to get their high flow fuel rails but that wouldnt make sense if I'm getting the NXL kit would it? Since it replaces the fuel rails?
Gold Phoenix: Yeah the 396 will be stock bore and all stroke. I have heard of spraying 500HP on all forged components and that would be fun. Scary but fun. It might be a good thing that the NXL only goes to 300HP. After this setup is done I wont be able to afford to fix it so I'm going to be very careful not to break anything.

The NXL fuel rails are good. And replacing the lines and pump good. Running only 100 octane though, that might scare me. I would run a little more, when spraying. Having it tuned for NA at 13.1 and then using the timing tuner for N2O? Good luck, and keep us up on it. How long before this project is in the works. I am considering a solid roller, stroker 382/396 and a little 300 shot myself, but would like to run 4xx to 500 someday.

Yes you can, for free too!
