Default for those who run a window switch

is it worth to install a window switch when you have an automatic? i feel that unless you are doing burnouts in the rain you should be safe. what are the advantaged of the window switch if you have an automatic?

also, who all actually runs a FPS switch? there comes a point when a motor is to lean it just doesnt run? therfore is a fuelpump dies is this really going to blow the motor?

yes i did a search but im not finding what im specifically looking for. i have a BMN window switch that im debating on installing. no longer with a manual so i dont know if its worth the install.

I think it is. A4 here also but ideally spraying through the shifts isnt the BEST idea but i got away with it for 2 yrs on a stock 4l65E. Now have a built unit from sponsor on here but still i dont spray through the shifts. If i had a th350 or 400 id do it all day but i can sacrifice the maybe 1 tenth of e.t for longevity.

I have a TH350 in mine, and run a window switch. I consider it cheap insurance. Same reason I run a FPSS. Last thing I want is for the pump to take a crap mid run.

I run a window switch and FPSS. Window keeps it from shifting during the shifts and just in case the tranny slips and hits the rev limiter. The FPSS is also important. You don't want to destroy a motor just because the fuel pump wuit working on a run. Hope that helps.

When you say you will pop a motor because the fuel pump stops working……I have seen this a couple times and there is a point when a motor is to lean it just doesn’t run. I understand if you run your motor lean for a long time things get a little hot and you start to break things. However, if you have a N/A 402 and your fuel pump goes half track your car just bogs down and shuts off…I do have a nitrodave stand alone fuel system so I am running a FPSS, but I think electronics are over kill. Bottom line is the more electronics…the more stuff to go wrong and trace down. I’m going to go ahead and install the window switch as it looks like it will help save the tranny.

Window switches are a very safe investment when dealing with nitrous. If you deck the throttle to low you will have a back fire. If you spray past your hi rpm set point the car may pull fuel away causing a lean condition.
Another thing is the drive line, if the tranny, driveshaft, or rearend fail the engine will over rev. With nitrous the problem is much much worse, so absolutley get a window switch for just peace of mind.

FPSS are a pump fail safe not a absolute. Meaning they are designed and set to catch if your fuel pressure is falling. Set it to close to your operating pressure and you will get an on/off/on/off bouncing problem you will notice.LOL fuel pump dies while on nitrous yes more time then not the engine will have some damage.

do not know anything about the BMM stuff.
