Re: do N20 bottles go bad? ya the bottle will have a date (mo/yr) on it, and the bottle will be good untill that date. after that date the filler shouldnt fill that bottle. they need new vavle, safety, and cleaning every 5 or 10 years depending on which company does it.
Re: do N20 bottles go bad? Actually they are supposed to be hydrostatically tested to a specific pressure at regular intervals. Those intervls may vary depending on who you are governed by. Such as DOT, NHRA, FAA. Bottle of this type are used for many purposes and many jobs.
But if your just using it on the street..you will likely never have to get it tested, If your worried about a bottle fauilure..check with the manufacturer to get the recommended test interval...or send it back to them for testing.

Re: do N20 bottles go bad? They have to be hydro static tested every so often. Same idea as my 68 ci 4500 psi bottle.
They x-ray the bottle and check for fiber frays, cracking and stress related problems before they become a major disaster.
I was more than happy to have my tank inspect, 4500 psi next to your chest is something you want to do as safely as you can.
