Default I joined the ranks of head lifting

I pulled my heads tonight and what I thought was a symptom of a lifted was was confirmed tonight when looking and saw a decent amount of soot around cylinders 1 and 3. none of the other cylinders had any soot around them on the block deck.

any of you guys else see this when you pulled your heads after you pushed some coolant?

Are you sure it simply wasn't an exhaust leak at the header flanges? Did the car have any odd symptoms?

it was on the block deck and not the head. Well I looked at the spark plugs and well you can tell I had too much timing in it. I checked all my cylinder walls, pistons, and heads. I have a new set of plugs ready to go in as well as head gaskets and valve springs.

after I sprayed the car, it ran like crap for a little bit then drove alright home. I got a check engine light after I got home for O2 sensor on that bank.
