Default New Dyno #'s and a story

We had my car on the rollers again Saturday night, I made my best all motor and a new best on the bottle. I'll have to have my tuner send me the graphs so that I can post them up.
On motor I made 435 rwhp and 363 rwtq
On the bottle it made 711 rwhp and 631 rwtq

This was my little stock cube motor with the new carb setup and a DP with 32-28 jets going through a glide and a 9"!

I was very pleased till I pulled the plugs out and I had melted 3 of them They were TR-8's, there was plenty of fuel and we were pretty conservative on the timing (15 degrees I think) . We done a leak down test and found out that we had burned a valve We had a race to go to the next morning so we stayed up all night just to put a stock set of heads on it and back off on the bottle to a 200ish shot. Well, we got it running at 6:00 a.m. and the ******* intake was leaking!!! The track is two hours away and the race started at 10:00! We decided to just load it up and pull the intake back off when we got it to the track. We were all dead tired, nasty dirty and smelled like a couple of dead cows. We had worked on my car all day and all night Saturday and then had to load all of our **** up and drive 2 hours to the track. Needless to say we were all zombies and not in very good spirits by this point.
Well, we got to the track, unloaded it, and pulled the intake off and put a thin layer of silicone around the gaskets. After about 30 min. or so we fired it up and it was fine (Thank God). I went out and made an all motor pass just to make sure everything was fine and then we started hitting it with a little juice. The track sucked pretty bad, nobody was hooking very well at all but we were having fun, all that work was starting to pay off. After a few rounds a guy that owns a local machine shop that had been helping me with some of the N20 stuff comes over to me and asks me if I'm ready to hit it with a big shot and he holds out his hand where there are a set of Autolite racing plugs.....I excitedly asked if they would work and he said that they would so we changed the plugs, then the jets and went and made a pass. It basically spun the first half of the track but oh my god did it pull on the big end! I got back to the pits, checked the plugs and they were perfect! Finally after having issues with plugs for a long damn time we found some that would work! Anyway, I ended up making it into the finals but I spun too bad so I had to settle for runner up.
It was alot of work and we were all exhausted but it was all worth it in the end. The guys that were helping me are top notch guys, I owe them big time.

BTW, what plugs are some of you "Big hitters" running? We looked everywhere for a non projected tip TR-8 but didn't have any luck. I'm just curious....

Here's a pic of the motor before we put it in.

And the intake with the DP installed

NGK V-Powers is what we've been using with nitrous.

TR8's are too hot for your application. TR6's or TR5's would be better.Nice numbers though!

Uhhhh, The higher the number the colder the plug. Tr55s are stock style.
