Default ?? on a dry shot

I have played with N2O on other motors but never a LS1. The older dry shots Ive played with the N2O was routed into the fuel pressure ragulator to make up the extra fuel.

With the Gen 3 (LS1) you just spray throu the MAF. Right? Thats where the fear and questions set in.

How far away does the nozzle need to be from the MAF?
What if the MAF is de-screened?
How big can I go?
How safe is a blow through dry shot set up?

I just want to make sure that I have and not

If you have the nozzles RIGHT by the MAF, it can freeze the little sensors. My nozzles are about 12 inches away, but pointed straight at the MAF, no problems at all.

My MAF is descreened, and you are suppose to descreen it when you run a dry kit (forget the reason for this...).

You can safely run a 125 dry shot on a stock motor with stock injectors and stock fuel pump.

Kit is very safe. Get a window switch and WOT switch and you're good to go. I took off my FPSS, they are junk!

Why are they junk? What would you recomend for a window switch?

Im going to run the N2O on on a GMC 4.8L and I have a LONG intake tube. I moved the MAF closser the the TB so if I mount the nozzel at the filter I will have over a foot befor the MAF. Im going to be using a fan type nozzel unless you have a beter idea.

FPSS suck because the are near impossible to tune, and when sent from NOS they are all out of whack! Check ls1.com's nitrous section, there is about 40 replies under the topic, "FPSS SUCK." And it is so true.

You'll run into problems with surging, the nitrous cutting in and out, or just not working at all like in my case. They are huge pains in the butt and not worth the time.

I use MSD's window switch, on at 3k off at 5.8k.

Huh, ditto again. Except I use my own window switch now. Tossed my MSD. Not adjustable enough.

I have to raise the flag on this. I tried it on a dyno with wideband O2 and it doesn't safely work. Your air/fuel is no where near the 11.8-1 where it should. Mine was more like 14-1 with the 125 shot, plus my injectors were maxed out....

Was that with a tail pipe sniffer? They are a little off from bungs in the collector. Regardless, O2's shouldnt be maxed out. You have a few mods too. Your injectors can only support so much HP. Once you max em, thats it. He's 305 stock, add 125 you get 430. If the injectors and pump can handle that then he's good to go.
